SHERO IN SERVICE

Dr. Danette Saylor is the Founder and CEO of the SHERO Group. Inc. She is an accomplished, award-winning,  higher education leader with more than 25 years of experience in academic administration and student success initiatives. Dr. Saylor  earned her BS in psychology and M.Ed. in counselor education from Florida A & M University, and her Ph.D. in Rehabilitation Counseling from Florida State University. 

Dr. Saylor’s career in higher education has been extensively spent serving persons with disabilities and underserved students of color. She has a diversity of experiences in both academic and student affairs at various institutions. These experiences include Vice President for Student Affairs, Assistant Vice-President for Student Success and Dean of Students, Director of Student Affairs and Assistant Professor/Undergraduate Program Director. Throughout her career, she has been dedicated to advancing equity in education.

Beyond her professional roles, Dr. Saylor is deeply committed to leadership development and empowerment initiatives for women, especially Black women.   She has previously served on the Board of Directors for the Oasis Center for Women and Girls, the Tallahassee/Leon County Commission on the Status of Women and Girls- Sexual Assault Policy Group, and the NASPA Center for Women Advisory Board. She is currently on the National Advisory Board of the Future World Changers in the Academy, on the National Advisory Council of NCORE.
